My career in Photography started when I was certain I wanted to be a Cinematographer. On learning that most cinematographers had photography backgrounds I went on a journey of self discovery. My first job as a photographer didn’t get as complicated as taking passport pictures of impatient clients, in what was one of Harare’s busiest Photography Studio’s. An opportunity to study Photojournalism and Documentary Photography opened my world and allowed me to travel extensively throughout Africa. As time went on I assisted a Commercial Photographer for a whole year helping document the local electrical company of South Africa, immediately after I was thrown into the deep end and that begun my journey and focus on portraiture.
My obsession with portraiture is fuelled by my love for people and the hope that every time I have an opportunity to photograph someone, that I would be fortunate enough to see a side of them they rarely show to the rest of the world.
I am currently based in Brisbane (Meanjin) and I am a Member of Diversity Photo (Up Next )
